Diversity Services
The creation of the new Equalities and Human Rights Commission mirrors our approach in covering the various equality strands:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender
- Race and nationality
- Religion and faith
- Sexual orientation
Our specialist background is in disability. But we know that many of the issues relevant to impairments are also similar across all the aspects of diversity and equal opportunities.
The Diversity Means Business project funded by SEEDA, our Regional Development Agency, and led by Portsmouth City Council enabled us to use our breadth of equality understanding. We researched, designed and delivered diversity training sessions plus the supporting handbooks and www.diversitymeansbusiness.org.uk website to small and medium sized businesses across South East England. We are delighted that we can now offer this well received and tested equalities training to a much wider audience. Workplace diversity applies equally to larger businesses, the public and voluntary sectors.
We can provide all the following in your workplace:
- The Diversity Means Business training modules - a menu of one hour sessions on equal opportunities meaning that you can choose the topics and extent of training to meet your needs.
- The Information Handbook covering equalities legislation, equality in recruitment and retention, increasing market share amongst the diversity of customers and the Age Regulations.
- Self assessment audits covering diversity in the workplace and action planning workshops so you can reap the benefits of diversity in the workplace.
